Speech of president of “Prosperous Armenia” party:
Dear colleagues,
Members of PAP fraction, City Council members and representatives of regional organizations are here.
I wish to inform you that I will meet with Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Raffi Hovhannisyan today. We will discuss a complete package of joint actions.
A number of figures, parliamentary and non-parliamentary leaders who had joined the National Movement, freedom fighters, social figures, who are waiting for solutions were in my office last night. And most importantly, the nation is waiting for our actions.
But first of all, I want to turn to the speech of the famous man. I want to highlight, that my word is addressed to the nation.
Dear nation,
We all are perfectly aware of the situation our country is in and who is to blame for that.
All my steps of recent years were directed to discussion and salvation of political problems. I have always announced that I am not a classical politician, but when bad governance is taking place and Armenia is moving backwards, then we all must stand up and find ways out. I see the way out in political changes.
I entered the politics for one reason, to help my country and my nation overcome this situation.
I have done everything for uniting all main political powers. I had defined a rule of not abusing and not spreading personal enmity. Because our task is being useful to the people and not take issues on personal level.
Now I want to say clearly that my disposition hadn’t changed since yesterday. We will remain faithful to our work ethic and will not take it out of political field. Street language is not for us, nor is hysterical behavior.
I have been acquainted with the speech of that man.
There was not a word about:
1. Why Armenian economy suffered such decrease during the years of his presidency, investments reduced, poverty increased and declared and undeclared businesses of his and his narrow circle grew,
2. Why terrorizing business became a state plan,
3. Why the country is squeezed out of immense amount of migration,
4. Why financial instability has been created,
5. Why entire villages, houses and possessions have been loaned to the bank and why people are unable to pay their loans,
6. Why the border of Armenia and Karabakh has grown tense and we hear of a new death every day,
7. Why did Turkey and Azerbaijan grow so arrogant that they talk ignorantly about Armenia,
8. Why one asks a question about millions of dollars spent in a casino at PACE,
9. Why hundreds of millions of dollars, written off for Nairit factory have been robbed and vanished and one thousand seven hundred people remained unemployed,
That man did not talk even when Nazarbayev humiliated and degraded him.
He didn’t even talk during tense military days of August and why did he not return from Baden Baden.
He was silent, when people were panicking due to rapid inflation.
He did not say a word of his silence when Gyumri and the entire nation were grieving of the brutal murder.
And now I will answer to the question that were referred to me.
The so-called firing me from National Security Council.
I want to inform that de facto I do not work in that structure for six months and did not officially leave it due to his personal plea.
Depriving me from Parliamentary mandate.
The most important thing for me is the trust of RA citizens, hence I have the most important mandate.
Many people wander why did Serzh Sargsyan take this issue to abusive field.
I want to open all brackets and be honest. I have been offered different cooperation, personal and profitable suggestions, including presidential seat after Constitutional changes, on one condition, that I agreed reproducing his authority. Meaning, I had to support his third official term and lifelong presidency, which was his desire, through constitutional changes. I strictly refused that anti-statehood approach, as a person causing regression of Armenia cannot have such pretensions. That disposition of mine caused the violation of political and personal relationship rules. This is the reality and nothing more.
In fact, that man’s programmed speech was addressed entirely to me, i.e. his plan is to declare war against me and eliminating the obstacle of his lifelong rule. That is his plan. Moving forward, I will add that I accept the challenge and will win.
The next.
During his speech, he said something about my unpaid taxes.
I must say that during the years of his presidency, all establishments belonging to me and my closed ones have constantly been checked.
Unlike him, I will talk of precise numbers and of the things that took place in front of everyone.
During the period of his presidency foreign debt of the country became more than three billion dollars. Where is that money, mister Sargsyan? Millions of dollars were stolen from people due to dollar-dram games. Where did that money go?
People want answers to those questions. Though people are perfectly aware where that money went.
Where is the money of our pensioners, teachers, doctors, peasants, military servicemen, police and national security officers? People know the answer.
I officially announce: two-three people have to return the billions of dollars to the budget that have been stolen after regime change, so we can be able to bring Armenia back to truck, strengthen Karabakh, free our nation from loans, and provide decent life for our children and parents. There is no other way.
About personal offences:
I will not lower myself to answer back.
It is time to make changes.
Now about the actions:
A situation has been created since yesterday that needs solutions. I’m sure that the only solution is regime change through early presidential elections.
Dear nation,
I know that this has been your main demand and I’ve been trying to reach to that solution through unshaken means.
Get ready for battle! Three thousand people in the streets make them change laws. And if the entire nation demands they will change the authorities. I now call for nationwide mobilization, having but one purpose, with all political legal means (constant rallies, protests, disobedience, etc..), reaching impeachment of Serzh Sargsyan and get rid of this evil regime.
These authorities must be changed and we can turn the inglorious and shameful history page. Armenia must be cleared of tepid air.
Our word is our work. The greatest work of my life I consider liberating Armenia from this evil regime.
