U.S. President Barack Obama met with his counterpart Viktor Yanukvoych briefly on Sept. 24 ahead of the 68th United Nations General Assembly, writes Ukrainska Pravda, during which they took a picture together. Yanukovych is expected to address the assembly, the Ukrainian president’s press service has stated.

There is no way to free Yulia Tymoshenko within the context of the European Union’s demands for signing the Association Agreement, said Oleksandr Yefremov, leader of the Party of Regions’ parliamentary faction, adding that no one in the opposition is working to resolve this issue, reports delo.ua.

Nearly 90 percent of the free trade pact and 50 percent of the political section of the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine will preliminarily come into effect immediately after being signed in November, reports Dzerkalo Tyzhnia.

President Viktor Yanukvoych will be the sole person to blame if Ukraine fails to sign the Association Agreement with the European Union in November, said leading opposition politician Arseniy Yatseniuk, according to Ukrainska Pravda.

Americans and Britons were among the terrorist shooters who entered an upscale Kenyan mall and killed nearly 70 people and injured some 200 foreign and local shoppers, reports Tyzhden magazine, citing the Kenyan foreign ministry.
