Funerals have been prohibited to take place today in Gyumri due to the official visit of RF president Vladimir Putin.
President of “Asparez” club Levon Barseghyan has been instructed about this. Besides, a Facebook user from Gyumri has wrote on his wall:
“Fresh insanities from Gyumri: due to Putin’s visit, people are not allowed to hold funerals. My friend’s grandmother had died and they are now allowed to bury her”.
‘I have received another alarming call, which is not checked yet. Most probably they are securing our guest. I know that special servicemen have gone to every house of the area where Putin will pass by, demanding residents to stay home and not approach windows. We haven’t had such a shameful situation in our country”, said Levon Barseghyan.
Barseghyan noted that Gyumri has 3 cemeteries, one of which is on the road to Vanadzor and the other 2 in north-eastern side. “At the entrance of Gyumri, there are the old cemeteries on the left side and supposedly, people will have to bury their dead earlier or later”.
President of “Shirak Center” NGO, Vahan Tumasyan noted that several streets have been closed due to the visit. ”Those streets are closed and they are leading to the cemeteries, so people cannot hold funerals or weddings”, said he.
He also noted that Gyumri’s square is closed not just for cars but for pedestrians as well, informs tert.am.
