Mick Jagger offered a touching tribute to his longtime love, fashion designer L’Wren Scott, Tuesday as the Rolling Stones announced their Australia and New Zealand tour has been cancelled.
‘I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way,’ the Rolling Stones frontman wrote on his website in a heartbreaking post titled ‘L’Wren’.
‘We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves.
‘She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me.
‘I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received.
‘I will never forget her,’ he wrote before signing off, ‘Mick.’
The online message came almost 24 hours after news broke that his partner of nearly 13 years killed herself in her Manhattan apartment.
