According to preliminary information, Kyrgyz citizen Nargiz Umarova, who jumped from the second floor of a building in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan to commit suicide on January 4, had attempted to illegally cross the Armenian-Iranian border with a group of people, on December 29, 2017.
Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned that the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia had prevented the crime and detained this organized group.
A criminal case was launched, and along the lines of which the members of this group were arrested, whereas Umarova was taken to UMCOR Armenia charitable foundation, until the investigative agency clarifies some circumstances. And the 29-year-old Kyrgyz woman had attempted to commit suicide by jumping from the building of this charitable foundation.
Also, the Kyrgyz embassy in Moscow recently released a statement on this incident. According to their official statement, Kyrgyzstan’s consul general to Armenia had met with the NSS officials, who informed that Umarova could be extradited to Kyrgyzstan after recovering from her injury.
The Kyrgyz woman had broken her leg as a result of falling. Representatives of the hospital where she is being treated have told Armenian News-NEWS.am that she was operated on and is in stable condition.
