She is used to making a huge splash wherever she goes.
But Kim Kardashian is now facing a wave of criticism from animal rights group PETA after she shared a video of her swimming with dolphins during a recent trip to Mexico.
The Keeping up with the Kardashians beauty uploaded a brief clip of her and jewellery designer pal Kristen Gipson holding on to a dolphin’s fin and being pulled around a pool on her Instagram account on Tuesday.
Thanking the trainers at Vallarta Adventures in Puerto Vallarta, the reality TV queen wrote: ‘Double dolphin ride with @kristennoelgipson. Thank you Vallarta Adventures for teaching us so much!’
Although not seen in the video, she also revealed that her one-year-old daughter North West had also interacted with the mammals.
She added: ‘Can’t wait to show my daughter the pics of her swimming with dolphins & kissing a sea lion when she gets older! #ThanksForTheMemories #Mexico.’
Bosses at PETA have now slammed the star for supporting dolphin ride excursions, insisting the animals can be left stressed and at risk of illness through constant close interaction with humans.
Speaking to Radar, the group’s Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said: ‘Kim is free to leave the pool, but for the dolphins, it’s a lifetime sentence.
‘Touch tanks and ‘swim-with’ programs allow the public to pet, kiss, or even ‘ride’ dolphins. Such programs invade the animals’ already diminished worlds and are intrusive, dangerous, and stressful for the animals as well as for human participants.
