Soon the Armenian nation and many other countries and citizens will mark the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, which is considered to be one of the biggest crimes against humanity committed in the early 20th century.
In the 20th century, our nation showed its desire to live and give life to healthier generations, which were able to not only demolish the results but also ensure the nation’s durability.
Our grandfathers did not limit themselves by making statements and protesting, but they displayed a huge will to live and work. This happened after the First and Second World War, when families, who’ve suffered big losses during the Genocide and wars and the 1988 earthquake, bore many children and enlarged their nation. Moreover, people who have given birth to children were not only the ones who have had losses, but also the ones who believed in the nation’s future and have seen our nation’s most important renaissance. And all this had taken place in poor social-economic situation, worse than we face today.
So, on the eve of the Armenian Genocide commemoration day, GOAM, social-political organizations, Diaspora companies should call everyone: “One baby in each family”. That child will be the one to continue the work and will keep the memory light of our lost generations in 2-3 decades.
Our elders always say: “I’m alive as long as my nation remembers me”. Following these words, the slogan mentioned above becomes modern and an important prerequisite for our republic.
For this occasion, I suggest Armenian authorities, all dioceses of the Armenian Apostolic Church, businessmen, Media representatives and NGOs take part at the project dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, which will have a purpose to double the number of our nation.
In the memory of our victims, “1.500.000 Armenian Root” project calls every Armenian family to give birth to at least 1 more child in 2014-2016. In the meantime, within the frameworks of this project, organize measures which will support the childbirth. Give instructions to all diplomatic representatives of Diaspora to grant an Armenian citizenship to all new born babies. Open bank accounts in the name of new born babies, which will have immunity provided funds for 18 years, which will support the future nation and connect them with their homeland, as well as come up with such measures.
We are sure that only such measures will be the answer to the challenges which Armenia is facing today.
