Justin Bieber has only been in Australia a couple of days but he’s already infuriating the locals.
The Canadian pop singer and his entourage painted some colorful cartoon characters on the external walls of the Gold Coast’s QT Hotel. While hotel management were apparently thrilled with the “piece of art in appreciation of his stay,” local councillors don’t agree.
Gold Coast mayor Tom Tait has said the hotel in Surfers Paradise may be served an order to get rid of the graffiti. “It might be on private land but it’s in prominent public view,” a council spokesman told AAP. “The mayor will be contacting our compliance officers today to have a notice issued to the hotel to clean it up.”
Bieber posted a photo of his handiwork on Instagram and reportedly left several spraycans behind for staff to remove. Tait said Bieber would be back in his good-books if he cleaned-up after himself. “Just come and clean it up and we’ll be happy with you,” he said.
