It’s becoming a popular move for the world’s biggest pop stars, and now it has been reported that Jennifer Lopez is close to signing a contract to take up a residency in Las Vegas. 

Following in the footsteps of Celine Dion and Britney Spears, the Jenny From The Block hitmaker is getting ready to secure herself a lucrative deal to perform a series of shows at The Axis, Planet Hollywood.

TMZ reports that the 45-year-old is ‘in the final stages’ of cutting the career-changing deal.

The actress and pop star is said to be in talks to earn $350,000 per show at the popular Vegas venue, where Britney also performs.

It’s thought that J-Lo will take up either a one or two year residency in the fun-loving US city, performing three shows a week for 24 weeks out of the year.

If Jennifer does sign the deal, she will be earning more per show than Britney, who makes $310,000 every time she hits the stage.

However, the American Idol judge will ultimately take home less than the Baby One More Time singer, as she’ll put on fewer shows in the time frame.

However, despite both Britney and Jennifer’s alleged profitable earnings, they both get trumped by Celine Dion when it comes to their Vegas salaries. 

The Canadian superstar, who began her residency in Vegas in 2011 and performs 70 shows a year, earns herself a cool $33,320,000 per year.

If Jennifer does sign the contract, she’ll take home $26,383,326 according to TMZ over the year, while Britney pulls in $29,760,000.

Celine postponed her Celine shows in August, as she revealed she is putting her career on hold to care for her husband Rene Angelil, who is suffering with ill health following the removal of a cancerous tumour on his throat.

It is thought she will make a return to her popular and highly-grossing residency in March 2015. 

For Jennifer, who has been one of the music industry’s most successful artists of the past two decades, this deal marks a huge step in her career.

As well as being a popular recording artist, amassing album sales well over 80m, she is also a bona fide Hollywood star, and has appeared in hit films such as Maid In Manhattan, Enough, Monster In Law and her breakthrough film, Selena. 

The new salary will no doubt be a welcome addition to Jennifer, who recently purchased a $22m luxury penthouse in New York’s Manhattan.
