It was announced on Tuesday evening, just as Cristiano Ronaldo had claimed a hat-trick for Portugal in Sweden, that the voting for the Ballon d’Or had been delayed until November 29, by FIFA.
The first with this news were Catalan daily El Mundo Deportivo, who reported that those national team managers and captains that have not voted, plus media, can now vote if they haven’t already.
If you have voted, say like Thiago Silva and Vicente del Bosque, you can now vote again and change your original choices.
A circular was sent by FIFA and France Football on Tuesday evening extending the deadline, which had already passed.
Speculation is now rife that voting for the 2013 Ballon d’Or was at an all-time low.
And, of course, that initial voting was not going the way of Cristiano Ronaldo.
