Prince George will have commoners for godparents in a break from royal family practice.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen three schoolfriends to be godparents for their baby, who will be christened on Oct. 23, the Sunday Times of London reported.
When Prince William was christened, the former king of Greece and the duke of Westminster were among his blueblood godparents.
In another departure from tradition, the ceremony will take place at the Chapel Royal in St. James Palace instead of Buckingham Palace, where William and his father Prince Charles were christened.
