“The forty-day April war showed that our main issue does not concern the diplomatic sphere, but the military one”, — Sergey Minasyan, the politician and the Deputy Director of Caucasus Institute said during an interview with the journalists today.
“Yes, we have a great deal of combative armed forces. The forty-day war can be estimated as “positive”, probably, in terms of its being short-dated, it sobered up on the one hand, and on the other hand showed the issues which exist in the Armed Forces of Armenia, Defense Army of Nagorno Karabakh in terms of military, military-and-technical, military political and on basis of the management mechanisms”, — Politician Sergey Minasyan replied to the question of Araratnews.am.
According to him, the forty-day war was a good lesson, after which the Armenian side ought to make appropriate conclusions. “I am confident that the Armenian side will make more and more beneficial conclusions than the Azerbaijan side”. Their (Azerbaijan) twenty-five year inferiority complexes hamper them from noticing that they had a great deal of losses, both material and human”.
To our question whether we had to suffer losses due to dozens of victims and there aren’t any other option – the politician answered, “For each country the stage military actions reveal the issues which under peaceful conditions cannot be seen. In other words, Azerbaijan has up to date rockets etc, it was obvious before the launch of military actions, but unless Azerbaijan applied them, this issue was not so clear. In addition, prior to the military actions the experts of Armenia overestimated the number and purpose of helicopters, in the event when losing 2-3 helicopters during the first hours (meaning the attack by Azerbaijan on April 2 in the morning), the enemy lost such mechanisms.
“There are issues which will arise during the war”, — the politician affirmed.
