A group of Turkish nationalists attacked Armenians coming out of an Armenian church in Fatih district, Istanbul, with stones, Ermenihaber reports, citing Artı Gerçek news agency.
The correspondent of Artı Gerçek Turkish news portal, Istanbul-Armenian public figure Yervand Ozuzun, who was personally present at the incident, said that the Armenian community members were talking part in a church ceremony. When they came out of the church, a group of Turkish nationalists started to throw stones towards them, shouting ‘You deserve death’.
In an article published in Artı Gerçek, Ozuzun highlights that the incident is nothing more than a demonstration of hatred and racism, urging the law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of their citizens.
