Giancarlo Giammetti, the longtime partner of famous fashion designer Valentino Garravani, has admitted that he and Valentino have not been intimate lovers in approximately forty years.
‘I was just 30 when the physical part of our relationship ended,’ he said in the November issue of Vanity Fair.
In the article, Giammetti is prompted about the massive admission, which he has made in his new Assouline book, Private, out this month.
Giammetti, added ‘it was difficult in the beginning.’ And they ‘had to solve problems with jealousy. But we’re all grown up—very grown up—and we know that time solves every problem. We’ve always wanted to be the best for the other.’
He told the magazine: ‘you know, from the beginning Valentino and I never lived together.’
“That’s probably why your love for each other lasted,’ the article’s writer prompted.
“Exactly! We want our freedom. We want to be able to close our doors,” Giammetti enthusiastically responded.
