Dear friends,
First of all, I’d like to thank you for taking part at this conference. And I thank you not for accepting the invitation, but for the fact that you do care for the problems our country is facing.
Unfortunately, ignorance has become a way of life for some people today.
And as those who have gathered here, have left the position of just an observer, I want to draw your attention to my first address.
I call you all to not be disappointed and to not get tired of breaking the barrier of ignorance. Believe me, this is not an abstract idea. We will kill the ignorance among our society towards own country. This is the main aim today, which we must reach first of all.
I know many of you had taken active part in National Movement HQs. Opening those HQs, a number of important tasks have arose in front of us: be next to the nation, hear the nation, to not abandon our compatriots at the time of need, work based on the wishes of the society.
I want to tell you that a huge work had been done and preliminary results show that we are on the right truck. Thanks to those results we know about the attitude of the society.
Recent events, including the tragedy of Gyumri, frequency of the border conflict, unbearable inflation, and destabilization of financial market became the last drop of patience, which must show the authorities that our nation is on the verge of a blow.
One wrong step, or even a word can bring hundreds of people out to the streets and no one can predict the result. One thing for sure-it will be a powerful and uncontrollable wave.
In this case, the task of our authorities is to stand next to our compatriots, protect their fair demands and get the results.
I understand that any movement, where hundreds of thousands people take part, if not millions in our motherland and the Diaspora, thousands of social groups, demand special responsibility. My second address to you is that we move forward with a sense of responsibility towards our compatriots.
It means that our movement grows each day, through our every-day work and we will make our government come to senses and realize its responsibility with the help of crowded streets and squares. This strategy will last till new elections.
In this context, I would like to draw your attention to the end of the year and changes of financial market. Three to four days showed that how fragile the stability of the economy is in our country. We saw the fastness of panic in our country. I talked about this 3-4 days before.
But this is not a pure economic issue. Government address was not convincing. Meanwhile we must calm people down and not let panic to happen.
My third address is for the authorities. Think about it and make conclusions.
For solving the existing social-economic problems effectively, an effective system of control is needed. And for that an effective electoral system is needed.
As I’ve already said, I have no enemies in Armenia and there are no good or bad political powers. All must join actively in creating our statehood.
Remember, no position is forever. If the development and security of our country need changes of authorities, then so be it. Saying it in football terms, the ball is not in the authorities’ field.
Dear friends,
We must take elections seriously, as they form new government.
In half-war situation, when every day the opponent fires towards our border and threatens of war, when the economy is low, we can’t change the control model of our country, hence widening political shakes.
We must attack the system of falsification of elections through united work. We are about to mobilize thousands of people for this very issue. That evil system must be broken at last.
If the authorities refuse our demands, then the nation will force them into new elections.
People must remember that not one position lasts a lifetime.
