Talking about the announcement Serzh Sargsyan had made in Sochi, our interlocutor noted:
“First of all, this comes to prove once more that Armenia’s decision on September 3rd was a result of pressure, and second of all, that pressure had nothing to do with Armenia’s security, as that security is worthless, that’s what Serzh Sargsyan said himself.
So, Armenia has so-called military allies in the so-called military alliance, which simply arm our opponent, which is our number one threat, hence I believe, that was the step counter of that pressure, moreover it was directed not only towards the participants of the meeting but also towards the Armenian society, which was out of the format, especially to the part which sings songs of security, about entering the Custom’s union and, of course, this proves the weakness of Armenian authority, which comes from the lack of public support, because it has a lack of legitimacy.
Nothing has been done during these 4 years to raise the inner power, the result was obvious, Armenia could not resist that pressure”.
Our interlocutor also noted that there was not need to expect that the authorities would talk about the pressure, but will do their best to show that the announcement made on September 3, was deeply considered.
“The truth is that by selling an attacking weapon to Azerbaijan Russia showed that it is not just a military ally to Armenia and the guarantor of security but is number one security threat, this is the reality after all and it is time to call things by their actual names”, stressed he.
To our question: “Isn’t it illogical that member of SCTO Russia arms a non-member Azerbaijan against Armenia, Ruben Mehrabyan said:
“This is absurd, as is the SCTO, Armenian-Russian alliance is absurd too, but the reason Russia does that is not an absurd at all. Russia does it for one reason, to raise the dependence of both Armenia and Azerbaijan, raise the territorial dependence on itself, to prolong its miserable and useless existence, there is no other rational explanation for it”.
Commenting on the ideas that Serzh Sargsyan’s announcement of September 3rd, was meant to keep his authority, Mehrabyan said that no political power did support the idea of Association agreement, did not offer its presence in that process, leaving everything on week authorities, waiting for it to fail, so they can gain dividends from it.
“It’s a reptile anti-state approach which had nothing to do with Armenia and the Armenian people. In current situation, taking into consideration the classification of the authorities, we can surely say that if the authorities were to resign then that would be yet another inner threat, and the power would take Robert Qocharyan with his team, which serves the interests of Russia and publicly welcomes every idea of Putin”, concluded Mehrabyan.
