Gayane Abrahamyan, member of the ruling “My Step” faction at parliament has been named as the new head the Armenian delegation to Euronest Parliamentary Assembly . According to the parliament press service the respective decision has been made at the National Assembly Council session held on Saturday that approved the delegation of Armenia.
To remind, MP Mkhitar Hayrapetyan earlier stepped down as head of the Armenian delegation to Euronest.
Hayrapetyan took to Facebook live to announce his decision, citing ‘heavy workload’. The lawmaker also heads the Armenian parliament’s Standing Committee on Education, Culture and Diaspora Affairs.
The Euronest Parliamentary Assembly is the inter-parliamentary forum in which members of the European Parliament and the national parliaments of Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia participate and forge closer political and economic ties with the European Union.
