Vardan Petrosyan’s lawyer, Nikolay Baghdasarov informed Araratnes.am that the investigator had presented an appeal on prolonging the actor’s arrest.
“The trial has been appointed after the motion. We have already presented an appeal on the previous decision of arresting him, considering it illegal, as the investigator had not presented any fact for that.
“The fact that the investigator had announced that Vardan Petrosyan can commit another crime and prevent the investigation, is not enough. Even the Court of Appeal noted that justifications are also needed”, said Baghdasarov.
He considers this a laughable fact for this case and notes that there are no justifications that Vardan Petrosyan will commit a new crime when he’s in freedom.
The lawyer noted that International institutions have turned to them for ‘illegalities’ but they need time to reply and have also turned to the Ombudsman for making criminal records against the investigator’s illegal actions.
