A resident of Nagorno-Karabakh’s Taghavard village (Martuni region) was wounded in a heavy shelling provoked by Azerbaijan’s armed forces along the Line of Contact.
Nagorno-Karabakh’s Ministry of Defense reports that the man, Yerevand K Firyan, 27, was hit during field work.
A probe has been launched into further details.
The Ministry says the Azerbaijani troops shelled the south-eastern military units of its Defense Army from the volley-fire system TR-107 overnight, releasing 45 mines against the Armenian defense guards.
Further retaliatory action was taken to suppress the adversary.
The Ministry strongly condemns the recent escalation, saying that the entire responsibility for its consequences falls upon Azerbaijan’s politico-military leadership.
