There are several constructions in the capital, which do not meet the standards of city’s architecture, but battling against them has become a useless job. However, when those constructions are a source of danger for our society, battling is necessary. Gas station in Erebuni, which is the biggest in the city, is only one foot away from residential area.
Seeing this station, one realizes that it does not belong to a simple “mortal” and that the owner has huge power, as the Municipality allowed him build it. The gas station is dangerous for 2 matters: first, it is close to residential area and second, is very close to a petrol station.
According to our information, the gas station belongs to NA MP Mher Sedrakyan. Now it is clear why the Municipality ignores it.
We should note that it had been enlarged recently and now people must cross it in order to enter the nearby park.
We tried to get some answers from the Urban Development ministry and they informed us that according to norms, gas stations must be 50 meters away from residential blocks.
But the fact is that this very gas station is only one foot away from residential blocks.
