Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has called for the development of mechanisms to continue cooperation between Ukraine and the Customs Union countries after the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU. He said this at a meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov in Minsk on Monday.
“Ukraine made a sovereign decision, and we will definitely find a formula to be together and continue cooperation. A long path is before us. We, members of the Customs Union, should soon walk this path by searching for formulae of cooperation under new conditions,” Lukashenko said. Earlier to this Mykola Azarov said that the agreement with the EU does not reject the possibility in the future of Ukraine’s accession to the Customs Union through holding of referendum.
