Russia plans to ease the country’s migration law and to issue a temporary residence permit (TRP) to a broader range of foreigners.
Meanwhile, the timeframe for considering a TRP is set to be reduced from six months to four months, whereas the residence permit will become termless, Russia’s Parlamentskaya Gazeta reported.
The respective bill drafted by the Russian government will be discussed by the country’s State Duma in the third reading on Tuesday.
The new measure proposes to grant a temporary residence permit, without a quota, to citizens born in Russia, Ukrainian citizens and people without citizenship, who have a special refugee status.
According to the draft law, a temporary residence permit will also be granted to those resettled in Russia as part of an international treaty signed with the post-Soviet countries, including Armenia.
