The First Instance Court of Yerevan’s Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts on Friday detained former commander of Artsakh Defense Army Samvel Babayan for 2 months, his lawyer, Avetis Kalashyan, told Armenian News — NEWS.am. At the same time, Kalashyan did not specify the nature of the charge brough against Babayan. He only said that the charges were unfounded.
Earlier, the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia released a statement saying that Samvel Babayan was detained as a part of the criminal case on smuggling Igla antiaircraft missile complex into Armenia.
