The Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian and his Dutch counterpart Bert Koenders on Thursday exchanged messages on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In his message, FM Nalbandian noted that the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states gave a new impetus to the age-long ties between the two peoples, bringing them to a state level. During the last quarter of a century, the Netherlands was an important supporter of the processes of economic and democratic reforms carried out by the Armenian Government. Furthermore, the Armenian FM lauded the cooperation with the Netherlands, which is based on mutual respect and trust and involves various spheres, including cooperation in international organizations, political discourse, inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as cultural and academic exchanges.
In his message, FM Koenders, for his part, lauded the bilateral relations, which have become deeper with years, this being manifested by productive bilateral visits and political discourse. He also stressed that the two states work together within the framework of a number of international organizations and in various other spheres.
According to the Dutch FM, the Netherlands welcomes the strengthening of ties between Armenia and the European Union and supports the efforts towards the further development of cooperation within the framework of the Eastern Partnership and between Armenia and EU in the spheres of mutual.
