Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met on Friday Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Sochi Winter Olympics.
Erdoğan arrived in Russia to attend the opening ceremony of the Sochi Winter Olympics which will take place between Feb. 7-23.
During the meeting, Putin said Turkish contractors have made considerable contribution to the preparations for the Winter Games.
Erdoğan also said although Turkey is participating the games with a few number of athletes, “These are important steps for the future,” adding that the trade volume between the two countries is at a good level.
Noting that they have been watching the efforts Turkish construction firms and achievements, Turkish prime minister announced that the Turkish firms will also contribute the preparations of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
