A private of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army was killed in frontline skirmishes provoked by the Azerbaijan’s armed forces on Friday afternoon.
According to a press release by the Nagorno-Karabakh’s Ministry of Defense, the serviceman, Vladimir A Melkonyan, was fatally wounded at 12:20 Yerevan time in a northern military unit. A probe has been launched into the circumstances of the incident.
“Nagorno-Karabakh’s Ministry of Defense shares the heavy grief of the loss, extending its solidarity to Melkonyan’s family, relatives and fellow servicemen,” reads the official statement released by the Ministry’s press service.
