Head of NA ANC fraction Levon Zurabyan announced, talking about gas price and the 300 million AMD debt that our authorities had hidden, that this entire process was due to elections.
“I had announced last October that they have a secret decision of selling the 20%, which had been announced recently. But as we are not acquiring any detail and the situation is taking place behind the curtains, any political bargain is possible”, said Zurabyan.
He added that Armenia “depends on Russia on gas, which has become a blackjack for our country”.
‘You saw it yourself that all details had been hidden, until we found out that gas prices had been increased. The entire process was connected to elections, both presidential and Yerevan Supreme Council. A bargain had taken place behind our back, which supposed keeping low gas price until elections ended, so people wouldn’t know that prices are about to get higher. And later, they increased the price and gave nonsense reasons’, said Zurabyan.
He added that the authorities have robbed the state budget each year with 2.5 billion AMD, but if they had used that amount on alternative electricity, then Armenia would have been independent of Russia.
