Beyonce’s father, and former manager, Matthew Knowles has just made some seriously big claims following the recent ‘family moment’ between Bey, Jay and Blue on-stage at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, and all those divorce rumours.
Matthew claims the now infamous elevator incident at the MET Gala earlier this year – where Solange was seen screaming at and hitting brother-in-law Jay Z – was fabricated to drive the power couple’s tour sale up.
Speaking to the Roula & Ryan Show on 104.1 KRBE in Houston earlier this week, he said, “I know, because we’ve done this. From experience, there’s a tour going on. So you sometimes have to ignite that tour. It’s called a Jedi mind trick. The Jedi mind trick fools you a lot.” Err, OK Obi-Wan.
The shocked radio hosts asked again whether it could possibly be true that the incident was a fake, and Matthew replied, “All I know is the Jedi mind trick. Everyone’s talking about it. Ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200%!”
Well, he has a point there.
So now were left feeling all confused and deceived by the ones we love, although her father did say Beyonce is still a total sweetheart, “We still talk every Sunday. She’s still the humble, generous person that she’s always been.”
