It’s not excluded that a new church will be built in Shahumyan park, at the ‘expense’ of the public and green area. These news have been circulating yesterday and hasn’t been denied officially. Taking into consideration the fact that Serzh Sargsyan once noted the necessity of building another church in Yerevan, this can possibly come to life. According to rumors, the new church will be called ‘St. Martyrs’. There are 5 churches in Yerevan now.
